Excited to post this kitchen remodel completed by my roommate, Tracy, and her boyfriend, Nick. My dear roomie (also an interior designer) assisted in the design decisions for Nick's kitchen remodel. Nick recently bought a house in South Tampa and has been fixin' up, renovating and refreshing his new space. Among many other fixer-upper tasks, his kitchen has been non-functioning for the past couple months, enduring a grueling construction schedule. But I think all the waiting has been worth it!
A note from Nick:
"The first time I walked into the home (even prior to buying it) I knew what I wanted to do with it. The goal was to open everything up, but I didn’t have the personal time to do all the work. I had to hire a contractor. If you have ever watch "Holmes on Homes," he does a great job scaring you with examples of horrible contractors. I did a lot of research on kitchen remodel projects, contractors and more to start budgeting. I had about 5 or 6 contractors give me a proposal on the floor plan and work I wanted complete. After several contractor visits, I found one I was extremely comfortable with and a quote that fit my budget.
This was a tag-team project between my girlfriend, Tracy, and I. Tracy picked layouts and colors while I did all the research on pricing, contracting, and brought in a touch of reality to her expensive taste. We even had to make some changes once the walls and cabinets were installed, switch granite colors and open up a walkway. All in all, I now have a $1 million kitchen in a $150K house.
After all the research and meetings, I still did a horrible job at choosing a contractor. They did extraordinary work and really made the place look great but the 6-8 week project lasted 6 months. They were consistently unresponsive and weeks went by without a contractor onsite to do any work."

He included a new Kohler touch faucet as well (above).
Beautiful job Nick and Tracy!
